Giving at St. James’

St. James’ exists through the generosity of its people. Your gift sustains worship, community, outreach, and the care of this sacred place. Giving is a spiritual practice — a response to God’s generosity — and an essential way of participating in the mission of this parish.

The Practice of Giving

In the life of the Church, giving is not simply a matter of finance — it is a sacred act of discipleship, a response to the abundant grace we have received. As we open our hearts to God’s generosity, we are invited to offer back a portion of what God has first given us: our time, our talents, and our treasures. In doing so, we join in the sacred work of love, mercy, and healing in the life of this parish and beyond.

Giving as Spiritual Formation

Christian giving flows from a heart shaped by God’s love. Our offerings reflect the bounty of God’s grace — not out of obligation, but out of gratitude and trust. We give because we have first been given to. Through the practice of stewardship, we participate in God’s Kingdom.

A Journey of Generosity

Generosity is a journey. It begins with a simple step — to give something — and grows as we offer consistently and joyfully what God has entrusted to us. This pilgrimage of the heart transforms our relationship with God, deepens our trust, and bears fruit in the life of the Church and world.

We offer three primary ways to participate in this shared ministry of generosity:

  • Offering Plate - Simply place your gift in the plate, passed each Sunday.

  • Give Online - A simple and secure way to offer your gift electronically.

  • Make an Annual Pledge - A disciplined way to grow in stewardship throughout the year.

Through your faithful generosity, the ministries of this parish — from worship and formation to outreach and care for one another — continue to flourish. We give thanks for every expression of generosity that sustains this community of faith. Know that your gifts are received with gratitude and entrusted to the work God is doing among us and through us.
